With all students now eligible for COVID-19 vaccines under new state guidelines, what does life look like after getting the shot? Here are some guidelines from Calvin’s COVID Response Team and the CDC.

Fully vaccinated people can:

  • Take yourself out of Calvin’s random screening pool by submitting a COVID Reporting Form, found on Calvin’s COVID response website.
  • Not quarantine or get tested after exposure to someone with COVID (unless you develop symptoms)

Fully vaccinated people can’t:

  • Stop wearing masks around campus
  • Stop using the #CampusClear app
  • Attend large social gatherings, except for Calvin-sponsored events.
  • Visit indoors, unmasked, in other students’ on campus residences (The CDC allows this, but Calvin does not).

Note that an individual is counted as “fully vaccinated”  two weeks after receiving a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after receiving a single dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Partially vaccinated people should follow guidelines for non-vaccinated people.
