“LUTHER DAY”

The quandri-centennial celebration of the birth of the Reformation was held Wednesday, October 31. This has been a delightful day to the student body. In the morning no recitation periods were conducted, but, instead of that, two splendid addresses were given. Prof. J. Broene gave us an exact idea of Martin Luther’s life, while Prof. B. K. Kuiper spoke brilliantly on what the Reformation means for us.

In the evening, Calvin College having been requested to participate in the celebration at the Armory Hall, put forth all efforts to make it a success. For the Occasion two large banners were purchased; one was carried at the head, the other  of the procession by Calvin students. At the appointed meeting-place the crowd was enlivened by college yells, given under the direction of Mr. E. Pekelder. From here we proceeded to the Y. M. C. A., where Calvin was given second place in the procession for, and here again Calvin yells rang forth.
