Award-winning alternative Christian rock band Switchfoot will be returning to Calvin College at 8 p.m. on Sept. 28 to perform at the Covenant Fine Arts Center (CFAC).
Calvin students will be able to purchase tickets at the box office window for $12 with their student ID starting Sept. 3, the starting date of student ticket sales for all fall shows.
Public tickets for the concert are currently on sale for $25 online through the box office.
This concert is a part of Switchfoot’s “Fading West” tour, which marks the release of their documentary by the same name in September.
This 80-minute film will be screened at the beginning of the concert before the band plays their full set. It gives a backstage look at the band’s music, love of surfing and their past 17 years together.
Switchfoot will release their ninth album, “Fading West,” in October.
The concert will be followed by a conversation with the band, facilitated by the student activities office.
This will be Switchfoot’s fourth visit to Calvin, their most recent show being in 2011 with rock band Anberlin.
Lead singer Jon Foreman has also made a number of solo appearances at Calvin, including a concert during the Festival of Faith and Music in 2011.
Ken Heffner, director of student activities, is excited for Switchfoot’s return to Calvin and expects that this concert will be comparable with other concerts Calvin hosts each year.
